Original Photographs.

These are my original photographs. 3 being actual photographs and one being a movie still. I used two of these four photos.

Draft Sketches.

I wanted my magazine to be Empire, and for it to be very simple with just one character as the main image and typical magazine information around the outside. My end piece was exactly as I wanted it.

Draft Sketches.

This is a rough sketch of how I wanted my film poster to look like. I wanted the Music Box as the main image with lots of stills in the background. My end result is very different to what I originally planned.

Narrative Structure - Bordwell and Thompson.

Bordwell and Thompson deinfe narrative structure as being - "a chain of events in a cause-effect relationship, occurding in time and space". This means that within a narrative would start with a normal situation, then something new would come along and change it causing other things to happen and then there would be a new situation at the end.

In the case of The Shining, we start with a normal family, who then have to move away for their fathers job, the isolation and hotel drive the father insane, he tries to kill his family, they escape, he dies.
